What is joseph olshan?

Joseph Olshan is an American novelist and essayist born on March 3, 1954, in New York City. He graduated with a B.A. in English from Brandeis University and an M.A. in creative writing from Columbia University. He is the author of several critically acclaimed novels including Clara's Heart, Nightswimmer, Vanitas, Cloudland, and The Conversion, among others. He has also written essays for The New York Times, The Times Literary Supplement, and The Wall Street Journal. Olshan is the recipient of numerous awards, including a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and a fellowship from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. He currently resides in Vermont, and frequently teaches creative writing at various universities and conferences.
